These lamps provide omnidirectional light output, closely resembling the distribution of conventional HID lamps. This allows GE LED lamps to be compatible with a wide range of fixtures while maintaining light levels equivalent to HID, facilitating the upgrade of numerous applications to LED without the need to replace the entire fixture. All GE LED lamps within this category are classified as Type B, indicating that the fixture is re-wired to bypass the ballast.
